Grace & Stella is a buzzy Canadian beauty company. And when we say buzzy, we mean 100,000-plus followers on social media and counting kind of buzzy.

Founded in Vancouver in 2016 with one product — a foot mask — the colourfully packaged brand has since expanded its offering to include a full range of skincare tools and products.

Among the buzzed-about beauty goods are a few MVP (that’s most valuable product) picks that seem to pop up again and again as customer favourites.

We tried three of these trending Grace & Stella go-tos — the Hydrocolloid Pimple Patches, Gua Sha Tool, and the Under Eye Masks for Puffy Eyes — so you can know how they perform before you buy them.

Grace & Stella Hydrocolloid Pimple Patches

What to know: These acne patches promise to “zap away zits” thanks to a hydrocolloid dressing design with a mix of tea tree oil and salicylic acid.

Our thoughts: Pimple patches are a fun and functional way to address acne. Long gone are the days when an acne flare-up prompted a spackling of concealer in an attempt to hide it.

Fun-shaped acne patches present a way to treat, and kind of celebrate, your skin flare-ups.

You can wear these overnight for mess-free management of acne or out and about during the day. No need to hide! (Admittedly, I typically opt for clear patches for daytime wear.)

I applied the stickers to my skin spots and was pleased with how the heart, flower and cloud-shaped patches seemed to reduce the size of the acne upon removal.

Plus, for anyone prone to picking at their pesky skin flare-ups, these stickers keep your fingers (and any added extra dirt and oil on them) away from any angry acne spots.

Grace & Stella Under Eye Masks for Puffy Eyes

What to know: Single-use jelly eye masks available in a rainbow of colours that feature skincare ingredients to target the eye area, such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and rosemary leaf extract. Vegan friendly.

My thoughts: Eye masks can be a great tool for depuffing, adding hydration and smoothing skin. Hot tip: consider packing them on a long-haul flight for some much-needed mid-flight skin hydration.

I tried the purple pair, billed as an “energy drink for your eyes” by the brand, applying them to clean, moisturized skin for an added boost to my tired-looking eye area.

Easy to apply (just slap ’em on, really), the mini masks stayed in place, even as I went back to answering emails on my computer while I waited for the 20-minute wear time to wrap up.

Upon removing the slightly sticky jelly patches, my under-eye area looked noticeably more hydrated and plump.

Price: $43 $26 (for 24 pairs)

Grace & Stella Gua Sha Tool

What to know: Billed as a “tried-and-true” facial massage tool that helps to ‘sculpt’ areas such as the cheekbone and jawline. Made from 100 per cent rose quartz, the stone itself is linked to “powerful purification powers, promoting self-love, and inner peace,” according to the brand.

Our thoughts: If you’re not using some type of facial massage tool in your skincare routine … what are you waiting for?

Simple facial massage maneuvers have been linked to possible benefits such as improved circulation, tone and more. Plus, who doesn’t want a mini massage first thing in the morning? I know I do.

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that uses a smooth tool to scrape along the skin to aid in lymphatic drainage and improve circulation. For the face, the tools are often made of a natural stone type such as rose quartz or jade.

After applying serum to my skin, I used the sculpted stone tool along my forehead, cheeks and jawline with either upward or outward strokes. I love the feeling of gua sha, especially in areas prone to muscle tightness, such as the jaw.

This tool works as well as other gua sha options that I’ve tried, and the addition of ‘feel good’ in gold on the tool is a nice visual touch.
